My wife is an amateur photographer that likes to take pictures of our family and nature. I'd like to send her to a course, or class where she can learn some simple techniques to taking better pictures. She has all the equipment, but she does better sitting with other people and learning rather than reading a book. She's an IT professional, so we aren't looking for a 4 yr degree in photography. I'mjust looking for the best way to find local night classes or weekend classes with other amateur photographers where she can learn. Does anyone know the best place to find something like this?

Try your local camera store. Talk with them they may already be planning some classes or might be willing to start one if there is enough interest. Check your area for a local camera club as well. Some college or schools offer night classes on Photography that are not designed for you to get a 4 year degree but more on line of just a better understanding of photography. If no local camera club in your area maybe start one up. Ask the pro photographers in your area to they may know of a person who does nature photography and then may be able to hook up with them for some shooting and get tips. Not sure the camera she uses but there are a lot of tutorial videos on the net on cameras and also on shooting nature and family.
