Master every feature your camera offers. Use your instruction manual to understand and practice using everything your camera offers.
If you only have a point and shoot model, consider an upgrade when you can afford one. Check your library\’s art section for material on composition and color.
Take tons of pictures and learn from your success AND your mistakes. Don\’t be hard on yourself. You\’ll have lots to learn. Enjoy the process.

Practice. Pick a technique, practice it, analyze the faults…
Keep at it til you get it down without effort.
Flowers/shallow depth of field
capture motion/short shutter speed accomodated by iso and aperture
low light…
Rule of thirds
breaking rule of thirds…
Takes time and effort. Some folks are natural at composition, but need technique/technical how to; some produce wonderful photos in full auto.
Practice

Be conscious always and take note of aperture, speed and iso for a particular shot u snap. Also, weather and camera flash have to be put into consideration in either indoor/outdoor shooting.
