If you are advertising your work as art, I am not sure if anyone would care if it has been altered. You can create some dramatic effects using filters on the camera, or by post processing it in Photoshop. What ever it takes to tell your “story” is fair game in my opinion.

Fine art photos are exactly that, fine art. Fine art is whatever the artist wants. You are free to do as many or as few adjustments, additions, etc to an image in this category.
