When I try to enlarge a print to a 8 x 10, the 8 x 10 print does not look the same as the exact same photo printed in a 4 x 6 size. The 8 x 10 print looks like it has been cropped. Why does this happen. Is there any way to avoid this? Thanks for any help you can provide.

If you double both dimensions of a 4X6, you get an 8XS12. An 8X10 is two inches short and some cropping must be done.

8:10 is a different aspect ratio than 4:6. 4:5 would fit on the small side, or 8:12 on the large.
Point is that software usually tries to keep the aspect ratio so objects keep their height AND width. Otherwise circles would become eggs.
