You can never be too old to dive into the world of photography.
It doesn\’t matter what your age… and it\’s a great hobby, so good luck and have fun.

If you ever have any questions, feel free to leave them on this forum and somebody will help you out, whether it is me or any other of the members.

Yes, you are much much too old!
Now that ive answered a silly question with a silly answer…
No, you are not. In fact it may be easier because you are not starting with incorrect ideas or practices of someone with \’experience\’.
Investigate the proper camera then learn how to use it. Photography and camera craft are equally important.
Whatever camera you get – go get the magic lantern guide for it and read it cover to cover – then use it as a reference as u learn each aspect.
It is a fascinating and rewarding hobby! One u can learn n advance at your own pace

If you are not too worried about size then this would be a great camera to start with. If you have not tried one yet do go and get a feel for it in a shop. As for a lens I would always steer you towards the very best that you can afford from the start and my choice for an all rounder would be the Canon 24 - 105 f4 IS L series lens, damned expensive but damned good and very versatile. Good review to read here http://www.the-digital-picture.com/reviews/canon-ef-24-105mm-f-4-l-is-usm-lens-review.aspx
