Good answer Anzingle :), remember if you are using a dslr just buy a spirit level to fit onto your hotshoe. its the easiest way to get true angles and form. Just try to match your camera level to the horizon and keep that angle when taking photos

Yes a panoramic lens (wide angle) would be good. Have a look at some of the new sonys like the wx1 or hx1 as they have recently released a feature called panoramic sweep. it means that you can point your camera at the start of your family group, sweep it over to the right and it will record a true panoramic print. It is a fantastic feature that is really easy to use and great for groups and landscape!!

Fuji is a good brand to go for as they are easy to use and are a good size for them to gran on to. In terms of her age i suggest you get any extended \"accidental\" plan the store offers. In my place of work we cover any accidental or mechanical over three years. Any fujifilm is goood, the fuji j30 or f72 is goood depends on how much you want to spend.

To be honest there is such a large amount of cameras out at the moment you would need be more specific about what you would be using it for. In refernce to type if you havent used camera just a small point and shoot. What picturers will you be taking?, who will it be used by? and how much do you want to spend? Only with that information could you get any specific models.

There are many camera that go underwater or you can buy housing for a camera that doesn\'t. Drphoto is right there are some nice ones in the mju tough series like the 8000 or the 3000 but also look at the Canon Powershot S10 as for quality you cant beat it and also check out some of the smaller fujifilms like the z33 if you want something cheaper. Remember that with higher resolution cameras you can be worse off by going too high. Just get a 10 or 12 million megapixels which will be more then enough.

CF (compactflash) is a faster form of memory transfer so for dslr\'s it is better however SD (secure digital ) is a more compact version that allows cvamera manufacture to make their bodies smaller. The gap is minimising every day between them as the technology grows.
