The negative was turned backwards when printing. If you have the negative and check it, you may be able to tell from other photos that the print source (negative) was flipped. It was not an uncommon occurrence back then.

Paradoxically, it is indeed not the parallax, but perhaps the pressing of the proboscis preventing the preview. Prudentially permissible parameters proscribe predictive prescriptions.

Very nice. Composition, lighting, DofF all pull together for a nice shot!
The gray card provides a definitive reference for lighting level and color balance. Color or white balance is the more common use. Though i cannot understand a course using a gray card without having first explained it. I recommend you pick up a good photography basics book to supplement your training course. Photography.com is a great place to find such a book.
Yes, you are much much too old! Now that ive answered a silly question with a silly answer... No, you are not. In fact it may be easier because you are not starting with incorrect ideas or practices of someone with \'experience\'. Investigate the proper camera then learn how to use it. Photography and camera craft are equally important. Whatever camera you get - go get the magic lantern guide for it and read it cover to cover - then use it as a reference as u learn each aspect. It is a fascinating and rewarding hobby! One u can learn n advance at your own pace
