For DSLR, recently I found out Sony A550 is a great stuff. Although Sony might not as famous as the other brand in the section of photography, I found that the technology used in Sony is better than/can be competed with other brand. They didn\'t really promote but they earns from selling their technology to the other brand. I personally tested on it and quite enjoying (currently using). Please correct me if I\'m wrong and this is what I heard/found from camera technician/website - LCD screen from Cxxxx is actually using Sony\'s LCD and the processor in Nxxxx is same as sony. and Sony a550 has achieve one of the fastest auto-focus function and achieve 7fps which other DSLR cant really make it. For semi-pro, I personally in love with canon G11 and I owned one as well. Nice stuff and as ilangi said - it has most features (ISO, F-no, Shutter Speed) of DSLR just that you may need a converter to install lens. If you have higher budget yet you wan a smaller camera with dslr features, i recommend panasonic lumix GF-1 (can addon lens as well), but too much parts to buy separately. it is quite costly for me. but In fact, it is a nice 1
Increase shutter speed, lower down ISO and get higher F-no to lower down the brightness. or you do as ilangai said by applying CPL filter.
light should be the major issue to create glares, to avoid it, increase shutter speed to decrease the lights, entering your camera, If it is still happened, it maybe not a glares, but a scar, dirt on your lens (due to scratches), do avoid scratch, install filter to protect your costly lens.
UV filter, CPL filter, Neutral Density Filter, Warming Filter. This 4 are the basic filter (for me) You may google them for more information.
